Katy Perry Cries With Orlando Shooting Survivor On ‘Ellen’, Promises To Pay For His College: VIDEO
Oh wow, this was difficult to watch because I couldn’t stop sobbing!
Ellen interviewed a survivor of the Orlando shooting today (Sep. 8) on her show and he just shared with everybody everything he has had to go through ever since the Pulse massacre and he bravely talked a bit about that shocking night as well.
I don’t know how Ellen could continue with that interview after hearing his story. I would have been left emotionally devastated. But she’s a pro.
Ellen did want to add a positive note to this brave man’s segment, though. So she brought out on stage pop star Katy Perry by surprise. Katy’s song “Rise” was a huge inspiration and help to Tony Marrero during his recovery process at the hospital. So Katy came out, gave him a big hug, and he just kept repeating “thank you, thank you for everything you’ve done for me”. A really moved Katy pulled it together, cracked a couple of jokes and promised to Tony that she will be personally paying for his first year of college.
What a moment!
