One Direction's Zayn Malik Turns 22 Years Old...Happy Birthday! But Is He Going Solo This Year?
He was only 17 when he auditioned on “The X Factor” Series 7 in 2010. Now look at where One Direction's Zayn Malik is now. Living the life he once dreamed. He has millions in the bank, a big house, a beautiful superstar girlfriend and a massive fanbase.
Zayn turns today, January 12th, 2015, 22 years old. Happy Birthday!
He’s changed a lot in the latest years, huh? The photos above do not lie. Vocally, (the most important factor for his career) he's grown and matured (his latest solos in the One Direction songs do not lie), but physically Zayn has declined. He unquestionably looks unhealthy in some of his recent pictures. He’s still smoking (both tobacco and most-certainly marijuana – he’s yet to release a public ‘sorry’ statement for that infamous Peru video), and his evident weight loss through his time in One Direction is still worrying fans. Blame it on an eating disorder? Stress? Drugs? No idea. But there has to be a cause for him to look unhealthily thin.
Problems or not, Zayn is not disregarding the most central thing in his life: his career, and that’s good. One Direction released last year their fourth album, “Four”, and a fifth one has been confirmed. However, will that be their last?
Zayn Malik spent the last week working with producer Naughty Boy (see pic above) at his London studio. For what purpose? That's yet a mystery, but this isn't the first time Zayn has worked alone (as in without the other One Direction members) with Naughty Boy. And this most-recent studio time with the "La La La" star has again fuelled rumours he plans to go solo very soon. Word has it Zayn has ‘indeed’ been working on his debut solo album (and he’s recording it right now as in the next weeks he’s going to embark in a very long world tour with the “Story of My Life” band) and that he intents to release it THIS year as the next One Direction LP isn't expected until mid-2016. So technically he wouldn’t be leaving One Direction (he's agreed to do that fifth album, remember?), but Zayn is – allegedly – giving the 'solo' thing a shot.
