World Premiere: Tove Lo - "Cool Girl" [Full Audio + Review]
Lorde wasn’t lying when she announced last night on Twitter that “Tove Lo is casually about to drop the pop song of the summer”. She knew the tea.
The Swedish singer-songwriter (very well known for her massive worldwide hit “Habits” and her flawless debut album “Queen of the Clouds”) is back in our lives with new music. Two years after “Queen of the Clouds”, Tove Lo is ready to give fans her second studio album. And although we don’t know the title of that new Tove Lo LP yet nor when exactly it is going to drop, what we do know is everything about the first single. It is called “Cool Girl” and it premiered via Spotify today, August 3. It will be available on iTunes and other platforms since tomorrow, August 4.
Given Lorde spoke so excitedly about “Cool Girl” on Twitter, I must assume that she is a co-writer on this song.

“No, let's not put a label on it / Let's keep it fun”, sings Tove Lo to the boy she fancies in the pre-chorus of “Cool Girl”. The Swedish singer has come to realize that she is no supporter of the “traditional relationship”, i.e monogamy. She loves being loose and she’s learned that that is okay from the also-very-loose guy she’s fallen in love with. Ain’t nothing wrong about sharing…right? Nah. I don’t get it. Am I too old?
Anyhow, here are other nice things Tove Lo will tell that boy: “I got boiling blood / I'm that fire...We could burn together” - meow! - and she also lets him know that she’s fine being in an open relationship; “I’m a, I'm a, I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl”.
