World Premiere: Shakira - "Try Everything" [Full Audio + Review]

shakira try everything

Not quite the Shakira “return” I was expecting for 2016 but I’ll take it.

Relax. This is not the first single from Shakira’s eleventh studio album, which she will definitely release this year (she will, believe me, otherwise she will be in serious danger), but just a song she recorded for the soundtrack of the upcoming animated movie “Zootopia” (in theaters this March) – where Shakira will be too giving voice to a character, Gazelle.

Try Everything” was written by Sia (like hello, couldn’t you tell?) and was produced by Stargate. The song’s production is pretty out there I should say…it combines synth-pop beats and guitar strings. I guess it was Shakira’s idea to include the guitar, as maybe she didn’t want her inspiring song’s words to be thrown to the side with an entirely clubby synth sound.

"No I won't leave / I wanna try everything / I wanna try even though I could fail”, sings Shakira in her “Zootopia” soundtrack single. The message of the song is very inspiring. Like, don’t ever give up, just keep trying and trying. You never know, the least you expect it you might be achieving something big.

Try Everything” might sound a bit too pedestrian for Shakira but it’s a song for a kid’s movie so it’s all good. The good news we get from this song in the end is that Shakira is back in the studio and back on her music recording routine.
