World Premiere: Rihanna - "Sledgehammer" [Full Audio + Review]
Rihanna premiered today, June 27, a brand new song of hers called “Sledgehammer”. The epic-sounding ballad serves as the official theme song from the upcoming sci-fi film “Star Trek Beyond” - which opens in theaters on July 22nd worldwide.
You will be able to hear RiRi belting “Sledgehammer” during the ending credits of the Justin Lin-directed movie (the follow-up to 2013’s “Star Trek Into Darkness”).
“Sledgehammer” is rumored to have been written by Australian star Sia and it is KILLER. I don’t know who’s Rihanna’s vocal coach but he or she must be given some sort of award. I think it’s safe to say that no one foresaw that “Pon De Replay” RiRi ever getting this good with her vocals. This was flawless and sounded so effortless.

Well, “You're just another brick and I'm a sledgehammer…”, she sings in the chorus. “Sledgehammer” is a very dramatic song where Rihanna tells how painful a break-up is when you’re still super in love with that other person. But, you have to move on and break that thick wall, which prevents you from being happy ever again, to keep on with your life.
