World Premiere: Pink - "Just Like Fire" [Full Audio + Review]

pink just like fire

It is here. Pink’s first “new single” in three years.

The song “Just Like Fire” is Pink’s contribution to the soundtrack of the “Alice Through The Looking Glass” film. The empowering track, which is available for streaming on Spotify and for purchase on iTunes as of this morning of April 15th, will go for radio adds next week (on April 18th), and a supporting music video, directed by Dave Meyers, will premiere in May. Wo-ah!

Just Like Fire” was co-written by Pink and co-produced by Max Martin, Shellback and Oscar Holter specifically for the film – which opens in U.S theaters on May 27.

So unlike anything she’s recorded before, huh? We have an acoustic feel, with a guitar-based production only, in the verses; the chorus, where Pink delivers weird but nailed high-pitch notes, is pop/rock with a slight synth effects, and she raps in the bridge. And although the lyrics seem a bit “immature” (by Pink's standards), I guess they fit the essence of the film – I mean, it’s freaking “Alice Through The Looking Glass”, hello. “Just like fire, burning out the way / If I can light the world up for just one day / Watch this madness, colorful charade”, sings Pink in the hook of her newly-released tune. It’s a record about not caring about what anyone says, for you have to do you always.

"Just Like Fire" is cute and very campy!

Hit or Miss?
