World Premiere! Macklemore - "Drug Dealer": Full Audio + Review
I don’t understand. If the song clearly states it was co-produced by Macklemore and some guy named Joshua “Budo” Karp, why would Macklemore have “Macklemore & Ryan Lewis” as the ‘main artist’ of the song? He could have dropped the “& Ryan Lewis” part. Just saying!
The Seattle rapper premiered an unexpected new song called “Drug Dealer” last night (Oct. 11) via SoundCloud.
Over a soothing soulful production, Macklemore uses his verses to rap about his past issues with addiction and how drugs have impacted Hollywood, while up-and-coming songstress Ariana DeBoo (also hailing from Macklemore’s hometown of Seattle) keeps the anti-drug theme of the song going in her powerful chorus (“My drug dealer was a doctor” / “Had the plug from Big Pharma / I think he tryin’ to kill me / He tried to kill me for a dollar”).
Wow. Totally impressed by this song "Drug Dealer". It’s so good in every way. Plus, I have so much respect for Macklemore now after hearing all what he has gone through in life. And to think he’s become one of the most successful rappers ever despite it all!
