World Premiere: Demi Lovato - "Cool For The Summer" [Full Audio / Review]

demi lovato cool for the summer cover

Pop child Demi Lovato’s new single “Cool for the Summer” just hit the web and it’s available for endless streaming. However, it won’t be available on iTunes until tomorrow, June 30th, unless her label think this one-day-in-advance leak is seriously bad for the single and make the decision to rush the release for today, but I don’t think so.

Cool for the Summer” is the confirmed lead single from Ms. Lovato’s forthcoming yet-untitled fifth studio album, due in stores later this year. Producers and writers of the song are: Max Martin, Ali Payami, Alexander Erik Kronlund and Savan Kotecha – all pop hit makers.

The new single hears Demi debuting a brand new style and it’s one that shows growth, and suits her so super well. “Can you please be more specific”, you say? Well, “Cool for the Summer” is giving me Lana del Rey, Katy Perry, Robyn and Jessie J vibes, all at once. The song is a laidback electro-pop song where Demi sings about a very sexual summer affair. She just uses a lot of metaphors to not say the ‘S’ word. (More info on 'CFTS' here)

The song is amazing, this new sound is perfect (I didn’t’ see it coming, I thought it was going to be super bubblegum), I foresee a great future for Demi from now on, and yeah, I too can’t help myself but sing Jessie J’s “Domino” when the chorus kicks in, lol. Just a little understandable confusion.

Hit or Miss?
