World Premiere: Bebe Rexha - "I Got You": Full Audio + Review

bebe rexha i got you

Bebe Rexha’s debut album “A.Y.F.” may have been pushed back until January 2017 by Warner Bros. Records but that isn’t making Bebe to lose faith or feel down, it’s the opposite, she still feels strong and convinced her solo career will push through towards success. This non-lost strength is confirmed today (Oct. 27) with the premiere of a brand new single titled “I Got You”, which can be streamed right now on Spotify and, starting tomorrow, October 28th, purchased on iTunes. That’s right, the life span of Bebe’s collaboration with Nicki Minaj No Broken Hearts” has been rather short. Sad? Yes. A) because there was no live performance with Nicki and B) because I loved the song and I can’t believe it underperformed. Anyhow, yes, it was already time for a new single. But “I Got You” is a complete surprise, for it doesn’t sound anything like “No Broken Hearts”. I guess Bebe is trying to take distance from the urban sound that she thought in the first place was the adequate for her debut album.

Produced by Captain Cuts, “I Got You” is a song where Bebe Rexha sings about always being there for the guy she loves despite all the adversities, the doubts he may have, a strong depression; she will be there to help him rise again (“I just wanna love you / I got you”). And as I said before, Bebe debuts a whole new sound in “I Got You”, one that is like a cross between synth-pop and Middle Eastern folklore, for that powerful chorus is making me want to do some Egyptian-like hand moves. I love it! Let’s see how this new single performs!
