Will.i.am (feat. Cody Wise) - 'Birthday' [Music Video]
Will.i.am just released via VEVO the official
music video to his newest single, 'Birthday' featuring Cody Wise. The Indian
music-flavoured party track is said to be lead single from the Black Eyed Peas'
frontman’s upcoming fifth solo album. Although some have said that what Will is preparing is a re-release
of ‘#willpower’, but since that album was released in April LAST YEAR, a re-release
at this time would be just senseless.
'Birthday' leaked last week in full, but
Interscope Records didn’t release the new will.i.am single on iTunes until last night,
May 27th. Got $1.29 to spend?
The song may not be on the Top 100 on iTunes
yet, but that’s okay, ‘cause as long as we love it, we don't care about the rest
(just joking, Will. Of course, sales are important!). We didn't want to love 'Birthday',
‘cause we found it to be super corny on the first listen, but the more we played
it the more we were hooked on it! That Bollywood-esque beat is just impossible
to resist, and the cheesy lyrics impossible to not sing along and that they
don't get stuck in your head! 'Birthday' would totally work on the ‘Slumdog Millionaire'
soundtrack, wouldn't it? Ha!.
As for its official music video (below), there are too many things going on in it. From will.i.am pretending he's straight by getting in a bed with a girl, girls nailing a choreography like the world is going to end tomorrow to Cory Wise flirting with countless females, and getting into Mariachi and Karate fighter costumes.
