The Constellation Jones-directed visual for the latest single from Meghan’s debut album “Title” premiered on VEVO last night (July 9) minutes after it was shown on the Sony billboard screen on Times Square – Meghan getting her new MV premiered in NYC’s iconic square? Huge!!!
The John Legend-assisted, ukulele-driven ballad “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”, which talks about loving someone like you’re going to lose him/her tomorrow, is going to be Meghan’s single for this 2015 summer season and I’m not entirely sure this was the best choice. I mean, I like the song a lot, it’s very pretty, but SUMMER single? Why is Epic Records shading “Title” (the title track) so much? That song SCREAMS summer single. Not fair! “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” gives me more ‘December single’ vibes. But whatever… I’m goning support Meghan no matter what because I like her majorly.
Directed by Constellation Jones, the “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” clip shows Meghan Trainor and John Legend singing the heartfelt song from their apartments as they watch the rain fall down outside and later joining vocal forces on the emergency staircase. Their scenes will be intertwined with those of a lesbian couple, a heterosexual couple, a granddaughter and a grandmother, a mother and her baby, and a homeless man looking kind of sad because of the awful weather. Thankfully, just in time for the last chorus, the sun will come out and souls will be uplifted.
