I’m surprised there wasn’t an epilepsy warning in here.

Lady Gaga world premiered the music video for “Perfect Illusion”, the first single from her upcoming fifth album “Joanne” (Oct. 21), last night, September 20, on VEVO.

Co-directed by Andrea Gelardin and Ruth Hogben, the “Perfect Illusion” visual shows Lady Gaga losing herself to dance - and drugs too maybe because her attitude was really ‘out there’, like she was on something - in the desert.

Cool things seen in the PI vid:

  • Gaga can also use a mic as a whip
  • Gaga has no issue performing with her band in the middle of a sea of people literally inches from her. Can that really happen in real life, though?
  • Gaga ain’t afraid to get dirty and writhe on the desert sand.

All in all, the "Perfect Illusion" music video succeeds in capturing that rock DNA of the song but I’m afraid all of the quick and sudden shot changes in video will make you dizzy in a matter of seconds and watching the full thing will be somewhat uncomfortable for the eyes. I applaud Gaga for really giving her all in the shooting of this, though. She knew exactly what she needed to do and she did that.
