Video Premiere: Emeli Sandé - "Breathing Underwater"
Scottish singer Emeli Sandé is going to release her much-anticipated second studio album, entitled “Long Live the Angels”, tomorrow November 11th in the UK. The first single from the album was the song “Hurts” (released in September) - which I must say I didn’t fall in love with nor it was a big hit in the UK, and now Emeli's revealing the official follow-up; a gospel-ish R&B ballad called “Breathing Underwater”. I think I like this one better but I’m still waiting for Emeli to give me a “Next to Me” 2.0. By the way, if you didn’t know Ms. Emeli Sandé, then besides checking out “Next to Me” on Spotify, you MUST WATCH her performance at the London Olympics back in 2012. It was incredible.
Today, November 10th - just a day before her new LP arrives - Emeli premiered the music video for her most recent single, “Breathing Underwater”. In it we see the Scottish girl belting her song and looking extremely emotional straight to the camera donning an all-dark outfit, big gold earrings and her signature hairstyle. Meanwhile, the music video director will also show us images of random young adults who seem to have troubled lives but when hearing Emeli’s “Breathing Underwater” they immediately realize there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
This new Emeli single must definitely be heard when feeling down, because it will lift you up, and I must say I am particularly loving the “church” moment at the end of the song.
