Video Premiere: Ed Sheeran - "Castle On The Hill"
Ed Sheeran took to YouTube this Monday morning to premiere the official music video for “Castle On The Hill”, one of the two mega smash hits (“Shape of You” is the other) the British singer-songwriter digitally released earlier this month and that are the lead singles from his forthcoming third studio album “÷” (March 3).
Directed by George Belfield, the coming-of-age “Castle On The Hill” music video was shot in Ed’s hometown of Framlingham in Suffolk, England and “is the perfect accompaniment to the beautifully honest storytelling of the song”. True thing. The video is very emotive and nostalgic. It also manages to perfectly capture the gloominess that usually prevails all year long in the English weather, lol.
For the video, the director hired a ginger-haired actor that portrayed the role of adolescent Ed Sheeran (and the resemblance is quite remarkable). Younger Sheeran will take a cross-country trip with his friends, feel alive, and at the end of the video current Ed Sheeran will take the center of the spotlight and relive those memories with who seem to be his longtime real hometown friends.
