Usher Does Bluesy Cover of Nina Simone’s “My Baby Just Cares For Me”: Listen!
Inspired by Netflix’s new documentary “What Happened, Miss Simone?” that hits the on-demand streaming media provider’s catalog today, June 24, the clever minds at RCA Records have come up with this idea of releasing the tribute album “Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone” on July 10.
A handful of artists (although most of the work is done by Ms. Lauryn Hill) perform covers of the 16 Nina Simone classics that make the $10.99-priced album.
One the highlight artists is R&B crooner Usher (baby). He got the cover of “My Baby Just Cares for Me”. Ms. Simone released this particular single back in 1958, and it became a hit. It got onto the Top 10 in the UK for instance!
RCA released the official audio of Usher’s “My Baby Just Cares for Me” rendition on VEVO today in celebration of the tribute album’s pre-order launch of album.
