U2 - "Songs of Innocence" [Complete Album Lyrics]

u2 songs of innocence album cover

Yes, U2 just pulled a Beyoncé, and in a way bested her. The rock band performed a new song called “The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)” at the closing of the Apple keynote of September 9th where the new iPhone 6 and iWatch were announced. After the unexpected live performance, U2 announced the immediate release of their thirteenth studio album “Songs of Innocence”. The set is available for free download on iTunes until October 13th, the date when the rest of music digital platforms and major retailers will be able to sell copies of the new U2 album.

U2’s last album was “No Line on the Horizon” back in 2009.

“Songs of Innocence” contains 11 songs, all written by Bono. The list of producers include; Danger Mouse, Flood, Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder and Declan Gaffney. One of the first reviews stated: “An album of big, colourful, attacking rock with fluid melodies, bright anthemic choruses and bold lyrical ideas. Perhaps the most surprising thing is that, despite apparently being created in a spirit of self-doubt, it sounds fresh and cohesive, bouncing out of the speakers with a youthful spring in its step.". A new album means a new world tour is coming too.
