Just when we thought their “Songs of Innocence” album era was dead, here come U2 with a brand new music video for the next single; “Song for Someone”. The previous, and second single, “Every Breaking Wave” was officially released back in December last year. Why did it take U2 six months to pick a follow-up? That’s the big mystery. I guess they didn’t reach a unanimous decision until now.

Directed by Vincent Haycock (who directed Lana del Rey’s flawless “West Coast” video), the “Song for Someone” clip, premiered last night, July 12, on VEVO, sees American actor Woody Harrelson and his real-life daughter Zoe starring in it. The storyline is about Woody’s character being a prison inmate who regularly receives the visit of his daughter. One day, the time finally comes for the inmate’s liberation. He walks, escorted by a law enforcement officer, the prison’s long exit road until he finds his loving daughter waiting for him in a car. On their way home, father and daughter will engage in an intense conversation.
