The Wanted's 'Farewell' Music Video, 'Glow In The Dark', Is Disappointing

the wanted glow in the dark music video

I get this video, I'm just disappointed by it. After their on-going tour is over, The Wanted will go into hiatus (although, I'm getting more 'split' vibes). Their last album "Word of Mouth", and the singles from it (five in total), have been sales disappointments. So it was a no-brainer a decision had to be made regarding the British boyband. The guys themselves, label, and manager Scooter Braun, all reached an understanding. That it was better for The Wanted to shift into 'hiatus' and let their 'brand' rest.

Will The Wanted pull a comeback in a future? I'm not so sure. Undoubtedly, a couple of the guys will embark in 'solo' careers, and not just in the music biz. Siva will surely break into the 'runway model' world, Tom will...do something, Jay...hmmm, well he's the most screwed, and Max and Nathan will definitely try to make it on their own as singers. Out of the two, I forsee more success for Nathan. Although by 'sucess' I mean one moderate, Top 20 UK hit. Max may be able to 'make it', if he knows how to sell his 'good looks'.

Anyway, back to the main purpose of this post, before The Wanted go hiatus, they are releasing a new single from "Word of Mouth", a sixth, and that's "Glow In The Dark". A stand-out dance cut from the album. The song is good, generic... but good.

They just premiered the music video for "Glow In The Dark" on VEVO, and it is extremely disappointed. I get the 'career retrospective' theme, but they could've done that as well only using certain footage as they performed the song in a set or something. A combination of 'new shooting' with old images would have been a better decision. This is just lazy. Kind of saying, 'ok, we're breaking up, and we don't care anymore 'bout what we release'.

What do you think of the video and TW's 'hiatus'?
