Song Premiere: Jonas Brothers – “Cool”
The Jonas Brothers released a new song called “Cool” last weekend. The song is the follow-up to their #1 hit “Sucker”. Why a new song so fast? Looks like Kevin, Nick and Joe want a new #1 sooner than later. But that is going to prove rather difficult this time. “Cool” is solidly topping the iTunes chart like its predecessor. In fact, as of this post, “Cool” sits at #5 on iTunes USA. Not a bad position but it’s not where you want your song to be if you are looking to score a #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Still, Jonas Brother can say they have a new hit.
Together with the digital release of the song over the weekend, Jonas Brothers premiered the official music video for “Cool”. Shot in Miami, the “Cool” visual is a suave, act a fool, laidback under-the-sun effort.
I can totally praise the music video but the song? It’s pretty “meh” to me. I gave it one listen, didn’t hate it, but I ain’t wanting to give it a second go. There's just nothing exciting about it. I had the same problem with "Sucker". I still think it is a dull song even though it came a big hit. Perhaps it was a big hit only because of the "excitement" of people about a Jonas Brothers comeback...
