Solange - "A Seat at the Table": Album Lyrics!
Beyoncé’s sister Solange released on September 30th her third studio album “A Seat at the Table”. The 21-track project became the follow-up to 2014’s “True” EP. For a second everybody thought Solange was done with music and that she was going to focus her time on other endeavors. But, we were all wrong. September 30th, 2016 was the date of her return, and what a return.
“A Seat at the Table” (Terrible Records) may have a tracklist of 21 tracks but only half of them are “real” songs. The other half are interludes.
Collaborations-wise, there are songs with Lil’ Wayne, Sampha, The Dream, Q-Tip or Kelela.
“Lead singles” from “A Seat at the Table” can considered: “Cranes In the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair”. The music videos for these songs premiered two days after the album hit stores.
In a monumental feat, Solange’s “A Seat at the Table” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. However, truth must be told, its first-week sales numbers weren’t particularly high (72,000 units). Solange simply released “A Seat at the Table” at the “perfect” time. Congratulations are in order, nonetheless.
