Single Review: Rita Ora - "Your Song" / *Audio Included

rita ora your song

Huh, and I thought Rita Ora’s music career done. I WAS SO WRONG! She still has something to offer!

The British singer released a new single called “Your Song” (not a cover of the Elton John song, Ellie Goulding did that already) that was co-written by Ed Sheeran and produced Steve Mac.

Your Song” is officially the new “lead single” from Rita’s long-delayed second studio album. Guess she’s finally been able to move on the Calvin Harris drama. Good!

Your Song” is TOO CUTE. It’s a simple romantic song but it’s so well executed. Over a fantasy synth pop production, Rita will sing about how deeply in love she is at the moment. And the metaphor she will use will be so music industry-ready. “Don't want to sing mad songs anymore / Only want to sing your song / Cause your song's got me feeling like that”, she sings on the chorus. WHAT A LOVELY SERENADE!

Very good, Rita. VERY GOOD. And very Natasha Bedingfield, don't you think? A song with not that pretentious, but with the right elements to be considered “NICE”, and definitely radio-friendly. Been replaying it A LOT since my first listen!
