Shawn Mendes Performs Acoustically / Shares Creepy Fan Story on "Elvis Duran"
Newcomer Shawn Mendes made his first appearance
on “The Elvis Duran Show" on New York City’s Z100 on Monday morning (August 18th). He’s
currently on tour alongside Austin Mahone, Fifth Harmony and The Vamps across
the U.S but today he had a free day and used it to do radio promo for his
self-titled debut EP. After chatting with Elvis Duran and his female co-host
about his overnight rise to stardom thanks to Vine, his cell phone obsession,
and him not waiting to get taller anymore, the 16-year-old Toronto-native
performed an acoustic rendition of his breakthrough hit “Life of the Party" - lead single from Shawn's four-song EP which debuted last month at
#5 on the Billboard Top 200.
To be 8 in the morning, Shawn’s acoustic
delivering of “Life of the Party" was rather impressive. Why was he so
hard on himself and rated his performance with a 6, though? Also, how creepy
was that story he told about fans stealing his cell phone for a few minutes to
only add themselves as “friends/followees” on Shawn’s social media.
