Just when you thought Shakira couldn’t make the 2014 FIFA World up remix of ‘Dare (La La La)’ any worse - just listen to the terrible edit the producer made the chorus...that 'can you feel it?' just doesn't sound right!... and pretty much the rest of the re-written lyrics trying to fit the Brazil World Cup theme better are a mess! – Shakira’s premiered the CORNIEST music video. The music video for the alternative version of ‘Dare’ features a lot of flags, a lot of tribal dancing, a lot of soccer-loving people drawing a ‘happy’ mouth on their stomachs (Activia sponsors this music video), Shakira's adorable son Milan kicking a soccer ball, Shakira wearing the most ridiculous head-pieces (Cher would love 'em though!), and cameos by a bunch of European soccer stars. Well, the majority are F.C Barcelona players…including Shakira’s boyfriend Gerard Piqué.
They all just look so cringe-worthy when they lip-sync the ‘la la la’ bits.
Summing up, this ‘Brazil' remix is horrible (bad editing, bad new lyrics), the music video, although better than then one for the original ‘Dare’, it is just too corny, and Sony (responsible for the 2014 FIFA World Cup album) had to get more relevant soccer players for this video. Messi and Falcao are okay, but the rest? Epic fail.
