Sevyn Streeter - "nEXt" [Music Video]
Sevyn Streeter loves bad boys, and she's a fool for falling in their arms. That's pretty much what we get (and what song lyrics are about) in the music video for "nEXt". The Kid Ink-assisted R&B tune is the second single from Sevyn's debut EP "Call Me Crazy, But...". Catch the VEVO world premiere now above!
Oh, no, does this mean the days of promoting "It Won't Stop" are over!? Noooo! That's still my jam! Oh well, I guess the song had to die some day.
"nEXt" is also a great R&B record, not on the same level as "It Won't Stop", but it's great too. Lyrics are clever in it, and totally relatable in the 'girls world'. "How can my ex boyfriend be my next boyfriend?", sings a confused Sevyn in the chorus of "nEXt".
As for the Derek Blanks-directed video, Sevyn channels Gabrielle Union's "Being Mary Jane" TV host character for the opening "I'm leaving you..." scene. After calling quits with Kid Ink, Sevyn starts dating a new boy who turns out to be a player. A broken-hearted Sevyn gets a text from Kid Ink who begs for forgiveness. A foolish Sevyn gets in the trap and falls for her 'ex' again. They make a cute couple, but girls in the real world should learn a lesson from this song and video. Learn to value you more!
