Selena Gomez To Release Greatest Hits Album, Fires Her Month-Old Managers!
Last April HitsDailyDouble reported information
about Selena Gomez’ contract status with Hollywood Records, and the changes in
her managers/agents roster. Back then, the reliable music industry website
asserted that Selena was out of contract with her label (supposedly ‘Stars Dance’ was her last album), and that she was seeking a new management team,
which eventually came to be Direct Management, but to be more precise Steve
Jensen and Martin Kirkup, employees of said company. This management is the
same that manages Katy Perry, and this sparked the rumors Selena was soon to
join Capitol Records.
Well, today, June 26, HitsDailyDouble has
updated the information they have on the future of Selena Gomez. She has not
signed a new label deal yet as she still has to release ONE MORE ALBUM with
Hollywood Records. However, it seems the two parties have amicably reached an
agreement for which Selena doesn't have to release an full-length original
album with the label. Instead, Selena is confirmed to be releasing later in 2014
(expect it for the Christmas period) a GREATEST HITS album, that will include
one or two brand new songs. But that's it. Once that album is released, Selena Gomez
will become a free agent and will be able to do what she wants with her life.
HitsDailyDouble also reports today that Selena
has FIRED Direct Management’s Steve Jensen and Martin Kirkup! Say what? Uh-huh,
they have only lasted ONE MONTH with Selena. What happened? They don’t do their
jobs well or what? Selena’s new manager (she's hired a new one already) is Aleen
Kesheshian, who manages the careers of the likes of: Jennifer Aniston, Natalie
Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana and Laura Linney.
Selena is evidently changing labels too. Will she go to Capitol after all? After parting ways with Katy’s Direct Management it seems not, but who knows! Hopefully she doesn’t make the absurdity of signing with Epic.
