Rizzle Kicks - When I Was a Youngster (Video!)
OK, I'm a fan of these kids! I only just 'discovered' new UK rap duo Rizzle Kicks - They're two 19-year-old buddies (Jordan "Rizzle" and Harley "Sylvester") who decided to try luck and form a group while in college in Brighton, England - They recorded some tracks, put out a mixtape, and that's when they got the call from Island Records UK. They signed a record deal, and began to work on their major label debut album in late 2010. Their first single "Prophet (Better Watch It)" went unnoticed in the UK, however it was with the second single, the AMAZING "Down with the Trumpets", Rizzle Kicks obtained their big break. That song managed to peak at a very respectable #8 on the UK Singles Chart. They later appeared on Olly Murs' latest #1 hit "My Heart Skips A Beat", and the buzz for Rizzle Kicks got bigger.
The UK rap duo have now unveiled the third official single from their upcoming debut CD "Stereo Typical" (October 31st). The track is called "When I Was a Youngster" and is another brilliant record, which I have no doubt will become a new Top 10 hit for them. I just love their lyrics, flow and rap. They're such a breath of fresh air within the current hip-hop industry. And where's the difference? Well, they said it, "We call ourselves hip-hop pop" and "we make happy hip-hop". I agree, they rock and the UK is loving them!
