Maroon 5's Future Single "Animals" Featured In New KIA Commercial
It looks like Maroon 5 have already decided what their second single from “V” will be. And that's the song "Animals", produced by Benny Blanco and Shellback. The strident pop number will be available for purchase starting on August 25th, which also is the day the pre-order of “V” will be up and running on iTunes. The day before Maroon 5 will have performed at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. Chances are, they perform a few seconds of "Animals" at the show. Nevertheless, "V" first single "Maps" is still performing rather well on all charts in the U.S. It’s still in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and Pop radio. The only thing Interscope and Maroon 5 need to do ASAP is give the song more TV live. Maroon 5 have ONLY performed "Maps" live on "The Today Show". The VMAs will be the second TV gig of the first single. WTF? More promo please! "Animals" will have to wait a little, but second single it is for sure.
How I am sure “Animals” will be the next “V” single? Well, because a lengthy preview of the track can be heard in the new Hamster-themed commercial of KIA promoting the new Kia Soul EV. You’ll be able to catch this commercial for the first time on TV during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards - and then it will go GLOBAL.
“Animals” sounds radio-friendly enough, doesn’t it? I’ll have to hear the full version to say a final judgement, though. But I'm not really fond of the "I will hunt you down girl, and eat you alive" theme for starters. Too sexist?.
Maroon 5's fifth album "V" hits stores September 2nd.
