Pitbull Recruits Robin Thicke, Travis Barker & Joe Perry For New Single "Bad Man": Listen

pitbull bad man

Another day, another new song from Pitbull. But this one is truly a surprise not only for its unexpected release time but for the collaborators featured on it as well.

The Miami-based rapper premiered this Monday morning (Feb. 15) - without any prior warning - a new single, allegedly from his upcoming studio album “Climate Change” that is supposed to hit stores later this year via RCA Records, titled “Bad Man”. “Bad Man” features Robin Thicke, who is in charge of the chorus, Aerosmith’s guitarist Joe Perry and Blink 182’s drummer Travis Barker. Hello? Yeah, this isn’t a mistake, this IS a Pitbull song.

Although Joe and Travis collaborate on “Bad Man”, this isn’t a 100% rock and roll song, but something in between rap, upbeat jazz and rock music. Also, something very vintage-sounding. But very groovy!

The chorus hears Robin Thicke explaining the theme of the song, with him telling a woman to punish him in a physical way for having been a very “bad man”. But this kind of S&M role seems to interchange later, for this is what Robin Thicke sings immediately afterwards: “Are you ready for love? / Come and get it, girl”.

Personally this is my least favorite new song Pitbull has released in the latest months. It just lacks that spark and it isn’t very radio-friendly either - in the sense I don’t think radios will be willing to play this song as it sounds a tad dated. Nevertheless, I thank Pitbull for the new music for despite not being his best work yet his music always put me in a good mood.

FYI: He's apparently performing "Bad Man" at the Grammys! Ehh... does RCA really think the song has what it takes to become a hit?

Hit or Miss?
