Paula DeAnda Auditions On "The Voice", Can The Teen Star Pull A Comeback?
I really thought none would turn around, but Shakira and Blake Shelton did!
Does the name of Paula DeAnda ring any bell? At age 16, Texas girl Paula DeAnda signed a recording deal with Arista and released her eponymous debut album in the year 2006. The album spawned three US Hot 100 songs; "Doing Too Much", "Walk Away" and "Easy". Paula was supposed to release a second album, but it is unclear what happened as she eventually parted ways with Sony. I would have gave a second chance!
Many years later, Paula DeAnda is now 24-year-old and wants to pull a comeback. Major labels have turned their backs on her, that's why she's resorted to auditioning on "The Voice". Her blind audition aired on the hit NBC talent show on Monday, March 10th.
Paula performed a cover of Ariana Grande's "The Way". The performance wasn't so good but Shakira and Blake Shelton eventually press their red buttons and made their chairs turn around. Was it the nerves? It has to be because Paula is a great vocalist. Not the best in the world but I remember watching live performances of her back in the day and she was good. Better yet, her voice was born for the recording studio.
When the time came to pick a coach, Paula chose Blake. Good choice, right?
