No More Singles From Iggy Azalea's "Digital Distortion"?

iggy azalea digital distortion

These are unfortunate but not so surprising news.

Iggy Azalea revealed during a Q&A with fans on Twitter over the weekend that her label (Def Jam) has no desire of releasing more singles from “Digital Distortion”. When a fan addressed her about saving energy for the "upcoming" promotion of the believed-next single “Savior”, Iggy replied him with a very disturbing tweet:

“Steve Bartels says he doesn't want to release another single for my album unfortunately. So that's that.”

So is this era completely over?

“PRETTY much! Sucks - savior is great. im very disappointed that's their decision.”

I agree with Iggy. I heard the “Savior” demo and it sounded like a hot track. But I also understand Def Jam’s unwillingness to release another single in light of the chart disasters that were the predecessors (“Team”, “Mo Bounce”, and “Switch”). “Why release more singles if it’s all going to flop” must be their reasoning. They are afraid of spending more money on Iggy when the risk is high of seeing no profit. And they have no desire to take that risk.

But will “Digital Distortion” be released in the end or not?

“it's being released just terribly lol”.

But if there will be no more official singles coming out from “Digital Distortion”, wouldn’t it be best that Iggy saves her Azealia Banks collaboration for IG3? Just saying…

And finally, can we count on this promotional/release mess not happening to her next album as well?

“I'm very unhappy with the way things have been handled too. I will make sure it's not this way for ia3... I can assure you guys of that.”

Does anybody else get “I’m so leaving my label” vibes from this last tweet?
