New Usher Song "Cuz We Can" Appears Online: Listen!
New Usher? An allegedly new Usher track titled “Cuz We Can” has just hit the Web. There’s no confirmation yet whether “Cuz We Can” will appear on Usher’s upcoming eighth studio album so take this “new music” label with caution. “UR”, Usher’ new album, was supposed to come out this year but the R&B crooner took the personal decision to push back everything – possibly because of the lukewarm reception of the first two singles - and now “UR” is expected to hit stores at some point in 2015 via RCA Records.
“Cuz We Can” sounds like Usher’s older stuff (which is good!)m it’s a mini-bop, and would totally perform well on radio right now. But if it’s up me I’d say this isn’t totally “brand new” Usher music…why? Because he’s sampling the beat of Mike Posner’s 2013 single “Top of the World” in “Cuz We Can”. The Mike Posner song was produced by Diplo and Benny Blanco – two confirmed collaborators on “UR”. So my thoughts are that Diplo and Benny sent Usher the beat, he recorded a demo and ultimately Usher and/or RCA said “NO” for “Cuz We Can” to be part of the official Usher discography so that’s when Mike Posner picked it up and created “Top of the World” with the original beat.
