New Song: Karmin - 'Acapella' [Review]

Pop duo Karmin premiered on Monday morning (June 10) their brand new single "Acapella", the official first cut from Amy and Nick's upcoming full-length debut album due in stores later in 2013 via Epic Records. The duo's last year's "Hello" EP - which spawned the hits "Brokenhearted", and the title track "Hello" - entered the Top 20 on the Billboard Top 200. For this new era, Karmin are bringing a new sound. Listen to "Acapella" above.

If their previous stuff was more guitars, and synths-centered, Karmin's new beats this new era will be all about heavy bass, and drum loops, at least that's what we can understand by listening to their new single "Acapella". The song is really good. Give it 3 spins and you'll be hooked on it. I like the fact vocals and lyrics stand out in the song. In "Acapella", the same ol' Karmin formula is repeated, with Amy Heidemann rapping the verses, and singing the hooks, and bridge, while Nick Noonan barely has any participation, except for a few adlibs. "Acapella" is fun, fresh, and so perfect for the summertime.
