New Music: Will.i.am & Pia Mia - "Boys And Girls" [Full Audio + Review] [Music Video Added!]
Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am has a new solo single out.
The man who executive-produced Britney Spears' "Britney Jean" album has teamed up with beautiful and talented rising singer Pia Mia to record the song "Boys and Girls", which is said to be part of an upcoming new studio album from Will.i.am, tentatively due in stores later this year via Interscope Records. This rumored new album would become the official follow-up to his 2013 "#willpower" LP.
Will.i.am's new single "Boys and Girls" will be released on iTunes tomorrow, April 8th. However, he stopped by the studios of Capital FM in London, England this morning to give the "Capital Breakfast Show" an exclusive first play of the track (does this mean Will believes his new single will do better in the UK than in the US, then? I mean, he could've radio premiered it with Ryan Seacrest or Elvis Duran too!).
REVIEW: SUMMER SMASH?
The version of "Boys and Girls" Will played on "Capital Breakfast Show" today was under three minutes long, so I'm not totally sure this was the official version - but we'll see. I'm not against "short" songs, though - and especially not when they sound perfect in their short length, which is the case of Will.i.am's new single!
How to describe "Boys and Girls" in a quick way...? I got it! IT'S A BOP. I seriously wasn't expecting much from Will's new single but he has surprised me in a good way. The song has an infectious urban-synth beat (super bass-y at moments, and those "quick drumming" moments are everything!) and no doubt this will become a club smash - for besides its fantastic production, the lyrics are uplifting. While Will raps about partying like an animal (who doesn't like to party like that, huh?), Pia sings in the chorus about how great our world nowadays is in the sense boys and girls are able to freely love anybody - boys or girls!
Heard it? Liked it or not?
UPDATE: Music video out!
