New Music: Will.i.am - 'Birthday' [Premiere]
Seems like Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am is ready to release a new solo album. Only one year after dropping "#willpower", the responsible for the disaster that was Britney's 'Britney Jean' album is about to inflict upon us a new musical project. We don't know yet the title of the "#willpower" follow-up or when does he plan to release it, but we now have the lead single. It's called 'Birthday' (how original! Another b'day song) and it features newcomer Cody Wise. Listen up below!
Weirdly, after a few listens, we are liking this, lol. It's the Bollywood-esque influence that is present in 'Birthday' that makes the new will.i.am single kind of cool. The production ain't that bad either. If thought like us that Cody Wise had to be the pseudonym of an Indian singer trying to make it in the US, you were wrong. Cody is apparently an African-American singer-songwriter from NYC! We definitely got into the Bollywood mood, though.
Cody's hooks are really fun...will.i.am's verses and pronunciation are just laughable!
