New Music: Tove Lo - "Scars" [Full Audio + Review]

tove lo scars

Swedish singer Tove Lo has been hired by production company Summit Entertainment to be the performing artist of the theme song of new movie “Allegiant”, the third and penultimate film of the “Divergent” saga, which will arrive in stores worldwide on March 18th.

The new song of the Queen of Clouds, which she co-wrote alongside Jakob Jerlström and Ludvig Söderberg, titled “Scars” was released on iTunes today, February 19th - pretty much a month before the movie it’s for comes out.

Scars” is a mid-tempo electro-pop ballad which stands on thin line between the dark and the sad worlds. This song hears Tove Lo singing about having suffered a lot in the past, and her “scars” still feeling fresh and hurtful ("Scars we carry; carry with memories"). However, trying to get something positive out of it, she realizes that “what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger” (Kelly Clarkson, where you at?).

Really nice song, perhaps not a song that is meant for radio, but certainly a good song from Tove Lo that I’m sure will be featured in an epic scene in “Allegiant”.

By the way, there’s something about Tove Lo’s accent that makes her songs sound so unique. Loves it!
