New Music: The Bird and The Bee - "Undone"
Know Greg Kurstin, right? He’s produced tracks for
many of your faves. Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé, Sia, Katy Perry…you name it! But
he’s not always been in the back hidden as a mere record producer. Greg Kurstin
also likes to be in the front. In 2006, he formed an indie-pop duo with singer-songwriter
Inara George called The Bird and the Bee. They've released three full-length
albums together as well as many EPs. The Bird and The Bee’s latest project was
the 2010 album “Interpreting the Masters Volume 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates”, released on Blue Note Records. After promoting the album, the indie-pop duo
took a time off to focus on their individual careers. But it’s now 2014, and
four years later, the dynamic duo is back!

The present
The Bird and the Bee’s first song in many years
is “Undone”, a track that is said to appear on their upcoming fourth studio
album, but as of now, it is known for being part of the soundtrack of "Sex Tape", the new comedy movie starring Cameron Diaz.
Review
“Undone” is so good. Like so super good! Greg makes magic happen with the production and instruments, while Inara lends her quirky vocals to the song. “Undone” is certainly indie-pop music, a very catchy indie-pop song I should say, with Inara listing in the chorus all the things she wants to be in order for her man to completely fall in love with her. "I wanna be the girl that you wanted in high school”, sings Inara.
