New Music: Panic! at the Disco - "Death Of A Bachelor" [Premiere]
Oh wow. I certainly did not see this one coming.
Panic! at the Disco world premiered a brand new song titled "Death Of A Bachelor" via Beats 1 radio on Apple Music last night (Sept. 1).
The "modern jazz" song is confirmed to be included on the rock band's upcoming yet-untitled fifth studio album, which shall be released in stores around the world later this year year via Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen.
"Death Of A Bachelor" is inspired by the legendary Frank Sinatra, who would 100 years old should he still be alive today. Apparently Sinatra is a major musical influence for Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie. Read what he said to say about this new song on his personal blog below:
"Frank Sinatra turns 100 this year. I attach his music to so many memories: Opening presents on Christmas day, my grandparents teaching the rest of the family to swing dance, watching “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” with my siblings (Sinatra makes a cameo in the form of a cartoon sword singing “Witchcraft”). His music has been a major player in the soundtrack of my life. So it’s only right that I return the favor and/or pay it forward.
“Death Of A Bachelor” is very important to me. It expresses the bittersweet (but mostly sweet) end of an era. A look back at a part of my life now deceased. An “It’s A Wonderful Life”-esque look into a possibly different future. But mostly an appreciation for the present".
Not sure if I should feel worried about this "end of an era" thing, but from the amazing sound of Panic's latest two released songs, looks like it's all going to be ok.
