New Music: Nick Jonas & Tinashe - "Jealous" [Remix]
When Detroit’s 98.7 AMP Radio tweeted tonight (Nov. 3) about the existence of a Nick Jonas and Tinashe collaboration I thought they were joking. But when they later sent out another tweet saying it was the official remix of “Jealous” and that it would get its first play at 8:47pm I started believing. And turns out they were not joking – UNEXPECTED DUET ALERT! Nick and Tinashe? Am I dreaming? Island Records and RCA joining forces?
“Jealous” by Nick is doing a pretty good job on iTunes, radio and Billboard but it seems Island thought the sexy R&B song needed an update to become even more commercial and profitable. So they rang Tinashe’s phone. And she agreed to get on board the song’s official remix. Apologies for the crappy radio rip (hear below) in advance but the LQ-ness of the rip doesn’t prevent us from hearing Tinashe’s FLAWLESS vocals in her new verse and hot ad-libs towards the end of the remix. Can this get to iTunes ASAP?
“Jealous” remix review
This remix is fire. Having a girl on the song certainly adds a new great vibe to it. And that girl being Tinashe - who only serves up marvelous R&B vocals every time - makes it more perfect. Kudos to Island for coming up with this. Now they just need to pay to shoot an alternate music video featuring Ms. Tinashe and get those streaming points as soon as possible. More radio stations – rhythmic – will be interested in playing Nick’s “Jealous” song thanks to Tinashe’s presence now and that’s good. Hopefully “Jealous” now can become the monster hit it deserves to be.
