New Music: Lorde - "No Better"

Beyoncé wasn’t the only one releasing new music by surprise on Friday, December 13th. New Zealand’s Lorde did too. She didn’t release a full-length new album and 17 music videos, though. The 17-year-old simply liberated one new song...but it's good! Named "No Better", this heavy-bass, trip-pop number, is a track that didn’t make the cut into Lorde’s debut album “Pure Heroine”. She’s now putting the song to good use releasing it as a one-off promotional single on iTunes as a little Christmas gift to fans.

"No Better" is just under three minutes long, it’s fast-pace (Lorde is virtually rapping), and it features high doses of Lorde’s signature weighty lyrics. My favourite line: “And you’re no better at swimming then you were in the beginning but you come over at night and we practice all the breathing”. You go, girl!

Lorde’s “Pure Heroine” album debuted at #3 on the US Billboard Top 200 Chart selling 129,000 copies. Its first single was the global monster smash “Royals”.
