New Music: Lily Allen - "L8 CMMR"
First it was Miguel's "Simple Things", and now Lily Allen with "L8 CMMR". The British singer makes also a contribution to the soundtrack of HBO's "Girls", currently on its third season. The album containing all these new songs is entitled "Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do" will hit stores shelves on February 11th (Atlantic). Although, in the case of Lily Allen, she hasn't actually gave the soundtrack a "brand new record", but an "unreleased" one.
Lily recorded "L8 CMMR" some time ago with the help of Greg Kurstin. He played the auto-tuned song to someone related to the HBO series and eventually was asked if he and Lily would approve for "L8 CMMR" to be featured on an episode (and make it into the soundtrack album too). They agreed. And I'm glad they did, because otherwise we would have never known of the existence of "L8 CMMR".
The cute, although too much auto-tuned, song sees Lily singing about the devotion and obsession she feels for a certain boy. Best lyric in the whole song has to be; "Under the covers, my mind is a bad motherfucker". Didn't know that side of you, Lily!
