New Music: Kiesza - 'Giant In My Heart'

It’s time to let ’Hideaway’ die. Canadian singer-songwriter Kiesza scored an unexpected hit in Europe earlier in 2014 with the deep house breakthrough single ‘Hideaway’, entering the Top 10 in Denmark, The Netherlands, Sweden or Germany, and most impressively reaching the #1 spot in the UK. Kiesza has to thank very much the support of BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac who immediately fell in love with ’Hideaway’ upon an exclusive listen and chose to world premiere the track on radio on her BBC Radio 1 primetime show back in January. That was the turning point for ’Hideaway’, and then all the European sales love followed.

Now Kiesza is back with a new single, 'Giant In My Heart' The second single from her forthcoming full-length debut album to be released later in 2014 and to be distributed by Kiesza's label Lokal Legend Records. I find it quite shocking that a major label hasn’t ‘bought’ Kiesza yet. She’s got the potential to be huge!

As for her brand new single ‘Giant In My Heart’, exclusively world premiered by Annie Mac again on BBC Radio 1 on Friday night, June 13, the song is another deep house record, very danceable, and featuring elements of electro-pop and old-school music. Kiesza addresses in the lyrics her feelings over the recent break-up from her boyfriend. “What am I supposed to do / In my heart there's only you / I'm still not over you, over you”, sings a heartbroken Kiesza in Giant In My Heart’.
