New Music: Katharine McPhee - 'Touch Me'
Yaaaas!! Been waiting to hear the full version of this ever since that 'Smash' promo aired during the Super Bowl! Katharine Mcphee gets dance-y in this original song called "Touch Me", taken from the forthcoming 'Smash' soundtrack to be released in US stores later in 2012 via Columbia Records. The NBC musical drama premiered earlier this year with its opening night bringing in a total of 11.5 million viewers and a 3.8 rating, making it the third highest rated new show debut of the [US] season. So happy this huge TV opportunity (and stellar role) was given to the uber-talented Ms Mcphee. She was born to be a star! I've been a stan of hers ever since 'Idol'. Hopefully this new show will help Kat get into a new 'major label' recording contract and she can give us a follow-up to the flawless 'Unbroken' soon.
Focusing back on "Touch Me", this FIERCE dance track was premiered online on Friday, March 16th and won't be 'performed' on 'Smash' until episode 8. Katharine's 'Touch Me' will be included, along other original 'Smash' songs and covers performed on the NBC show on a soundtrack disc to be released once the current season ends next month. OMG, 'Touch Me' is SO GOOD. Who expected Kat would give us a flawless club track like this for a show about musical theater?! 'Touch Me', co-written by Ryan Tedder and Bonnie McKee, is a pure perfection, it slays my soul, and THE BRIDGE is fire, fire, fire!
