New Music: Jessie Ware - "Say You Love Me" (Written by Ed Sheeran)
Ed Sheeran to the rescue! The successful star has penned a track for fellow British singer Jessie Ware's new album "Tough Love" that is called "Say You Love Me". And that’s exactly the song Island Records has selected to serve as second single from Jessie’s second studio album. The title track and first single “Tough Love” was a chart disappointment, only peaking at #35 on the UK Singles Chart. So drastic measures needed to be taken, and Island was forced to bring out the heavy artillery sooner than expected. The Ed Sheeran-written new single "Say You Love Me" will be released in the UK on September 28th, only one week before "Tough Love" album hits stores. The chart performance of the second single will be key to the first week sales of the album!
"Say You Love Me" single review
Wow. Now this is a song worthy of the top positions of the charts! I didn’t hate "Tough Love", it was a very solid track, and very Jessie Ware-sounding, but it did get a bit monotonous as you play it over again, and it certainly wasn't no "Wildest Moments”, and it didn’t scream “#1” at all. "Say You Love Me", though, is outstanding in every way, and this does scream #1? Well, Top 10 at the least! I wonder, though, if Jessie will feel bad seeing that she needed Ed to get a hit, and that "Tough Love", that was all her, was a flop? Anyway, I am loving "Say You Love Me". The guitar production is exquisite, so are Jessie Ware's vocals, you can just feel the Ed Sheeran touch in the song, and the gospel choir-ish moment towards the end was MAJOR!
