You wanted new Jennifer Lopez music? Well, here it is!
The singer from The Bronx released her new single titled “Ain’t Your Mama” exclusively on iTunes/Apple Music today, April 7th - only a few hours before her live performance on the grand finale of “American Idol” (this is what I call a perfect promo line-up!).
Is this new song part of an upcoming new studio album from Jennifer Lopez? Most likely! Only a few weeks ago, it was announced that Jennifer had returned to Epic Records - signing a multi-album deal, therefore it’s highly likely that this song “Ain’t Your Mama” is the lead single from J.Lo’s long-awaited ninth studio album.

“Ain’t Your Mama” features a fiery urban-pop production (with a tribal touch) that is reminiscing to the earlier days of Jennifer, it’s a song that makes you want to shake your body to it from second one, and it is a song where Jennifer shares an empowering message for all females. “I ain't cooking all day (I ain't your mama!) / I ain't gon' do your laundry (I ain't your mama!)”, she sings. So, all girls out there, if you’re in a relationship where your boy is a lazy individual, you should make J.Lo’s “Ain’t Your Mama” your NEW ANTHEM and sing it to him!
Is there something I don’t like about this song? Well, unfortunately yes. I do like the fact “Ain’t Your Mama” was written by Meghan Trainor, as she is one hell of an artist and all the extra coins she can get to make her career bigger writing for other people I support. However, I’m not too fond of the fact that Dr. Luke produced Jennifer’s new single - for reasons that I’m sure you already know. Will Dr. Luke’s involvement in J.Lo’s new single damage its performance - possibly due to a backlash of the general public? I don’t know, but it’s a risky situation!
