New Music: Jason Derulo - "Cheyenne" [Full Audio / Review]

jason derulo cheyenne cover

I’m liking this new Jason Derulo song “Cheyenne”. It’s giving me Michael Jackson vibes.

The Miami singer just unveiled a new track from his forthcoming album “Everything is 4” (out May 29) titled “Cheyenne”, and you can get it for free if you pre-order the album right now on iTunes or you can simply click play on the YouTube video at the bottom of this page to stream it for free. It’s your choice. But pick one, because the song is good.

“Cheyenne” becomes the third track from the “Everything is 4” era that we get to hear. First was the lead single “Want to Want Me”, which I like, then it was the buzz single “Get Ugly”, a cool urban joint, and finally, today, “Cheyenne” has emerged – another buzz single. What are the probabilities I’m liking “Cheyenne” better than the other two songs, including the lead single? Quite high actually.

I’m not sure if “Cheyenne” has what it takes to become a stand-alone smash hit, and radio slayer, but I like the song very much. I like the story of it and Jason’s delivery.

Jaaaasooon Deruuuulo? Nah. Cheyeeeeenne

Cheyenne” is an electro-R&B song about love; about Jason meeting a girl named Cheyenne with whom he only wanted to have fun but, as no one can control one’s fate, ended up falling in love. Jason spends some of the song saying how he was only in for the fun, that didn’t know how this happened, and yadda yadda yadda, but later he opens up his mind, lets go, and embraces this beautiful opportunity at true love. “No I can’t stop / Thinking about you every day”, sings JD in the hook. Oh, and he ditches his signature ‘Jaaaasooon Deruuuulo’ shout for this song as he’s changed it for “Cheyeeeeenne”.
