New Music: J. Cole - 'Be Free'

J. Cole - 'Be Free'

It's been some time since we've heard new music from J. Cole but in light of the recent police killing of 18-year old Michael Brown in Missouri, the Roc Nation rapper pens a new record titled 'Be Free'. Cole uses his rapping and singing talents to plead for freedom and justice over a somber instrumental.

'Be Free' was uploaded to Cole's Soundcloud in the early morning hours on Friday (Aug. 15th). He attached the message "Rest in Peace to Michael Brown and to every young black man murdered in America, whether by the hands of white or black. I pray that one day the world will be filled with peace and rid of injustice. Only then will we all Be Free."

"All we want to do is take these chains off. All we want to do is break the chains off. All we want to do is be free" repeat the 29-year old on the hook.

Cole's raw emotion can be heard in his voice. He also included eyewitness reports of the shooting throughout the song. In case your not familiar with the recent tragic event, the eyewitnesses heard will give you a good idea of what went down. Take a listen to the powerful new song below.
