New Music: Hot Chelle Rae - "Don't Say Goodnight" [Full Audio + Review]
Almost a year after the release of "Hung Up" (January 2013), the thought-to-be first single Hot Chelle Rae's third studio album, the pop/rock group (now a trio after they lost member Ian Sebastian on the way) come forward with a follow-up (finally). "Don't Say Goodnight" was released on iTunes today (Feb. 7). The feel-good tune will be serviced to US radios on February 25th. "Hung Up" reached #34 on Top 40 radio last year, will "Don't Say Goodnight" best that? For the sake of HCR's career...it better!
I think "Don't Say Goodnight" has it all to do moderately well on Top 40 radio. Although, if I'm being honest I like "Hung Up" far better. It just sounded more catchy, and radio-friendly. The chorus on "Don't Say Goodnight" is really good, and I like the overall care-free theme of the song, about not stopping the party just yet and just keep on having a good time until the night is completely over and the sun comes out, but this doesn't strike to me like a #1 hit anyway.
