New Music: Florence and the Machine - "Ship to Wreck" [Full Audio]

florence and the machine ship to wreck cover

Florence and the Machine reflects on her own life in the new single from her upcoming third studio album “How Big How Blue Beautiful”, the upbeat, guitar-driven “Ship to Wreck”. The song was premiered tonight (April 8) on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show and was immediately uploaded to VEVO right after. I repeat, this is not ‘buzz’ single, this the confirmed second single from the album and therefore follow-up to “What Kind of Man” which potentially has the title of the shortest-running lead single of the latest times.

On the “Ship to Wreck”, Florence Welch said: “I was thinking about my own self destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down, enjoy/destroy, create/devastate etc. When you're in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most”.

The music video is confirmed to drop next week and was entirely filmed in Florence’s very own house!

Did I drink too much? Am I losing touch? Did I build a ship to wreck?”, ask herself Florence in the chorus of the very life-reflecting track. No, Florence, you’re not much different than the rest of us. We all have our ups and downs!
