New Music: Florence and the Machine - "Delilah" + "How Big How Blue How Beautiful" (Studio Version)

florence and the machine 2015

Huge day today for Florence and the Machine fans.

Two songs from the British singer’s forthcoming third album “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” (out May 29) surfaced on Tuesday night.

The first, “Delilah”, which world premiered on BBC Radio 1 in the UK in the “Hottest Record” segment on Annie Mac’s show, and the second, the title track “How Big How Blue How Beautiful”. Of the latter we had: the teaser video Florence released a long time ago (that featured only a few seconds of the real song), and the full live version, but now we have the full STUDIO VERSION and let me just tell you it’s glorious. How did we get it? Did Florence release both songs tonight at the same time? Well, no. “Delilah” was the only new Florence + The Machine song that should’ve been out today, in fact it’s the only song she’s currently promoting on her socials, however the studio version of “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” made its way in a very unexpected manner. It was premiered on some radio show in Spain! Say what? Did they have Florence’s label authorization or did they screw up big time? In any case, thank you for giving it to us!

I know tonight had to be the night of “Delilah” but I’m just stunned at how amazing “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” sounds in its studio version. By far my favorite song from this new Florence era so far. This needs to become official single ASAP. This song is so Grammy-worthy.

Thoughts?
