New Music: Fences (feat. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) – ‘Arrows’
Pop band Fences have been building up their buzz in Seattle and receive assistance from fellow hometown natives Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis for their new release 'Arrows'. The track serves as the lead single from the band's forthcoming new album 'Lesser Oceans' due out this fall.
Macklemore and Fences relationship goes beyond that of music. Macklemore worked with the band's lead Christopher Mansfield on his critically-acclaimed album 'The Heist' and a couple times previously before that. He told Billboard:
“Fences is a good friend. He’s fu---d up in the same way that I’m f----d up. Because of that, our lives relate beyond the music. I’ve always admired his talent for illustrating with words and evoking imagery. We’ve made a bunch of stuff together over the years and this here song about Arrows is my favorite one we’ve done."
'Lesser Oceans' is scheduled for release on October 14th via Elektra Records. It will be their first project since the release of their self-titled debut album back in 2010. Look for pre-order to be available real soon and stream 'Arrows' below.
